Snohomish County elected officials will host a public meeting Monday, March 23, to discuss financial constraints as well as proposals for addressing projected shortfalls in the 2009 county budget.

The public meeting will be from noon to 1 p.m. and will be held in the first floor conference room of the Robert J. Drewel Building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon will lead the discussion with a presentation on budget issues facing the county during the remainder of 2009. Current estimates show the county must adjust the County Council-approved budget passed in November 2008 by about $6.75 million.

Inviting the public along with Reardon are County Assessor Cindy Portmann, Auditor Carolyn Weikel, Clerk Sonya Kraski, Prosecutor Janice Ellis, Sheriff John Lovick and Treasurer Kirke Sievers as well as Superior Court Presiding Judge Larry McKeeman and District Court Presiding Judge Jeffrey Goodwin.
